Heart Chair

A contemporary iteration of the cottage windsor greenwood chair, the Heart Chair uses birch branches reduced to their heartwood to create an aesthetic of contemporary thinness.

The legs were crafted from arborist offcuts of birch trees which would otherwise destined for a wood chipper. Using a drawknife to strip the timbers down to their heartwood creates strong, minimal leg & back members that exploit the natural structural advantages of timber’s tubular cross section.
